Memories of Epcot's Food and Wine Festival

I recently attended my very first Epcot Food and Wine Festival at Disney World and was totally amazed by the size and variety of the food and beverage offerings. The thing that I remember most were the wonderful aromas as I passed by each food booth. That morning I had skipped breakfast and lunch which left me starving as I entered the park at around 2pm.

Since the experience was so amazing we are starting to talk now about planning a future trip during the Food and Wine festival for next year. One thing that really amazed me was the number of different countries that were represented. I really didn't know what to expect so I figured it would just be a few of the countries, and I thought it would be the same countries as the pavilions found around Epcot's World Showcase. I was pleasantly surprised to see booths from Santiago Chile, Melbourne Australia, Vienna Austria and many more.

Believe it or not, I think my favorite booth was the Mexico City booth located near the Mexico Pavilion. Another big surprise I had not expected was that each dish had a wine or beer pairing recommendation. For every dish I ordered, I made it a point to order the Chef's recommended wine or beer. At the Mexico City booth, I ordered the Spicy Sausage and Cheese Tortilla with the recommended L.A. Cetto Petite Sirah. The pairing was incredible with the sausage and cheese tortilla and I clearly remember that the spice was noticeable yet not overpowering and increasing slightly with every bite I took until the last bite almost had me breaking out in a sweat.

I can't wait for next year!
